I Long For Beans
Eating beans can make you fart, so does eating long beans give you a longer fart? I don’t know cos I don’t hear mine.
What I do know, is that long beans stir fried with minced dried shrimp and sambal belachan makes a very tasty dish. Hey, please read this easy recipe. Don’t let your mind be hung on to the fart thought.
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1 tsp sambal belachan
- 1 tsp minced dried shrimp
- 1/2 tsp minced garlic
- 2 cups long beans
- salt
Cooking method:
1. Heat up 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a wok. Medium heat.
2. Stir fry sambal belachan, minced dried shrimp and minced garlic until fragrant. Make sure you have enough oil so that the sambal belachan does not burn.
3. Add long beans into wok and mix well. Cover the wok and allow to simmer for a few minutes or until the steam has softened the long beans. If too dry, add some water.
4. Add salt to taste.
Cooking Tips:
1. For faster cooking, cut the long beans shorter.
2. After you stir fry the long beans, the wok is actually full of sambal flavor, so make the most of it and stir fry some steamed white rice using the same wok. Doing so not only helps in cleaning the wok, it also adds sambal flavor to your rice.
Long Beans - You cannot hear my fart, but you can definitely hear my power burp.

Tigerfish, the sambal belachan is very tasty! But my mom told me not to eat too much :(
