Music Meme In A Cooking Blog?

Tag:,

Daddyforever got me into a frenzy of digging up my MP3 and MP4 music when he “arrowed” me with this music meme. I usually listen to songs from itunes radio without knowing the name of the singer or the title of the song :) so, coming up with this list, to me, was as difficult as filing US taxes.

Anyways, I finally did it and here are my five favs as of today. There are probably others that I missed out, as the rest of my CD’s are still in Singapore. They may or may not be the original artistes, but who cares… I like them the way they sound now.

1) Perhaps Love Perhaps Love
By Eva Cassidy, Best Audiophile Voices III Album (Original Artiste is probably John Denver)

The lyrics of this song warms my heart like a bowl of hot porridge comfort food would warm my tummy.

“Perhaps love is like a resting place
A shelter from the storm
It exists to give you comfort
It is there to keep you warm
And in those times of trouble
When you are most alone
The memory of love will bring you home…”

2) Both Sides Now Both Sides Now
By Clannad, Themes Album

This song was from a CD I never returned to my ex-boyfriend. I hated all his other music. Somehow this song seems to ask me to look at life from both sides now, so I broke off with him.

3) Nel Cuore Lei Nel Cuore Lei
By Andrea Bocelli, Sogno Album

I like opera kind of songs, like those from Sarah Brightman. Bocelli did do a duet with Sarah Brightman in the hit single “Time To Say Goodbye,” but that song sounds rather sad, and it’s spring time now, so I chose to list Andrea Bocelli here instead. Here he did a duet with Eros Ramazzotti (I dunno who that is).

Italian tenor Bocelli was born in 22-Sep-1958, birthplace: Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy. Did you know that he is blind?

4) I Will Be Here I Will Be Here
By Steve Curtis Chapman, Love Songs For A Lifetime Album

This is my all time fav love song. I chose to have this song played at Charlotte’s wedding in Atlanta (cos she asked her guests to list some of their favs to be played during the wedding reception).

5) Winnie The Pooh Winnie The Pooh
By Winnie The Pooh?
I don’t know the title of this song, so I’ll just call it “Winnie The Pooh”. My husband and I only have a single CD player in our car, so a few years ago when we made a 2-week road-trip down from Vancouver all the way to the Bay Area, this was one of the CD’s that we played over and over again because we were too lazy to change CD’s.

After writing this post, I realized I am supposed to come out with seven songs and tag seven other people… but Daddy! that’s too tiring. I am asking for a discount so I leave here with five songs and no tagging. Hehe… did I mention somewhere I was lazy? :)

I love that song “both sides now”, first time I heard it was when we went to watch Love Actually at the cinema and that song was one of the soundtrack. It somehow really touched me as well since that was when the now-hubby (then-bf) decided to go abroad and it made me think a lot about how my life was going etc. :p
